Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects toll-like receptor 8 (gene TLR8) in human samples and is validated for IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 119.8 kDa.
Toll-like receptor 8 (TLR8) is an endosomal pattern recognition receptor that recognizes fragments of single-stranded RNA, particularly GU-rich sequences from viruses and bacteria. It signals through MyD88 to activate NF-κB and pro-inflammatory cytokines, mainly in monocytes and myeloid dendritic cells. TLR8 is studied in antiviral immunity and as a target for vaccine adjuvants.

Validated Applications
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 2–5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human gastric cancer tissue, human tonsil tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of at N-terminus of human TLR8. Sequence identity with the mouse ortholog: 76.5%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places toll-like receptor 8 in the endosome membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in myeloid dendritic cells, monocytes, and monocyte-derived dendritic cells.
