Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes transmembrane emp24 domain-containing protein 5 (gene TMED5) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 26.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 26 kDa.
TMED5 is a member of the p24 family of type I transmembrane proteins involved in vesicular transport of the early secretory pathway. It is needed to maintain Golgi structure and helps exchange proteins between Golgi stacks during assembly. TMED5 has also been reported to influence Wnt ligand secretion.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human K562 cells, rat lung tissue, rat stomach tissue, rat C6 cells, mouse RAW264.7 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): A431 cells.

Recombinant human TMED5/p28 fragment (Asp33–Lys164), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places transmembrane emp24 domain-containing protein 5 in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
