Product Overview
Clone 24T81 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes tropomodulin-2 (gene TMOD2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 39.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 40 kDa.
Tropomodulin-2 (TMOD2) is a neuron-enriched member of the tropomodulin family of actin pointed-end capping proteins. Working with tropomyosin, it blocks elongation and depolymerization at the actin filament pointed end. TMOD2 is studied in neuronal actin dynamics, synaptic structure and learning and memory.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human TMOD2.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places tropomodulin-2 in the cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Neuronal-tissue specific. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
