Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes lymphotoxin-alpha (gene LTA) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 22.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 6 kDa.
Lymphotoxin-alpha (LTA, also called TNF-β) is a TNF-family cytokine made mainly by activated lymphocytes. As a soluble homotrimer it signals through TNFR1, TNFR2 and HVEM, and as a membrane complex with lymphotoxin-beta it engages the lymphotoxin-beta receptor, which is essential for lymph node and other lymphoid organ development; it is studied in inflammation and lymphoid tissue organization.
| Target | Lymphotoxin-alpha (gene LTA; UniProt P01374, human) |

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): recombinant human TNF beta protein.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the middle region of human TNF beta. It differs from the mouse sequence at one residue.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes lymphotoxin-alpha as secreted and also located in the membrane. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
