Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes toll-like receptor 8 (gene TLR8) in human and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 119.8 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 120 kDa.
Toll-like receptor 8 (TLR8) is an endosomal pattern recognition receptor that recognizes fragments of single-stranded RNA, particularly GU-rich sequences from viruses and bacteria. It signals through MyD88 to activate NF-κB and pro-inflammatory cytokines, mainly in monocytes and myeloid dendritic cells. TLR8 is studied in antiviral immunity and as a target for vaccine adjuvants.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Rat) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat liver tissue, HepG2 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human TLR8. The peptide sequence is conserved in mouse.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and rat. UniProt places toll-like receptor 8 in the endosome membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in myeloid dendritic cells, monocytes, and monocyte-derived dendritic cells. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
