Product Overview
Clone EOC-20 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes mitochondrial import receptor subunit TOM20 homolog (gene TOMM20) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 16.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 16 kDa.
TOM20 (TOMM20) is a receptor subunit of the translocase of the outer mitochondrial membrane (TOM complex). Together with TOM22, it recognizes the presequences of nuclear-encoded mitochondrial proteins made in the cytosol and hands them to the TOM40 channel for import. TOMM20 is widely used as a marker of mitochondria in imaging and Western blot studies.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells, human 293T cells, human K562 cells, human HeLa cells, rat kidney tissue, rat stomach tissue, mouse kidney tissue, mouse stomach tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human colorectal adenocarcinoma tissue, human lung cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human TOMM20.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places mitochondrial import receptor subunit TOM20 homolog in the mitochondrion outer membrane. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
