Product Overview
Clone 18M14 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes thrombopoietin receptor (gene MPL) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 71.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 82 kDa.
The thrombopoietin receptor (MPL, CD110) is a cytokine receptor on hematopoietic stem cells and megakaryocytes. When thrombopoietin binds, MPL activates JAK2 and STAT5 signaling to drive stem cell maintenance, megakaryocyte growth and platelet production, and activating MPL mutations are found in some myeloproliferative neoplasms.

Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human TPOR.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places thrombopoietin receptor in the cell membrane, Golgi apparatus and cell surface. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed at a low level in a large number of cells of hematopoietic origin.
