Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects targeting protein for Xklp2 (gene TPX2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for ELISA and Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 85.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 86 kDa.
TPX2 is a microtubule-associated protein required for building the mitotic spindle. Released near chromosomes by Ran-GTP, it promotes microtubule nucleation and binds and activates the kinase Aurora A, targeting it to spindle microtubules. TPX2 is frequently overexpressed in tumors and is studied in cell division and cancer biology.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
|---|---|
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human placenta tissue, human U937 cells, human A431 cells, human Caco-2 cells, human K562 cells, human HepG2 cells, human Daudi cells, rat testis tissue, mouse stomach tissue, mouse testis tissue, mouse pancrease tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant human TPX2 fragment (Asp15–Gln93), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places targeting protein for Xklp2 in the nucleus and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in lung carcinoma cell lines but not in normal lung tissues. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
