Product Overview
Clone HOG-20 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes TNF receptor-associated factor 2 (gene TRAF2) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 55.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 50 kDa.
TRAF2 is a RING-domain E3 ubiquitin ligase and adaptor that is recruited to TNF family receptors such as TNFR1 and TNFR2. By building Lys-63-linked ubiquitin chains on partners including RIPK1 and cIAPs, it helps switch on NF-κB and JNK signaling and balances cell survival against apoptosis, so it is central to TNF signaling research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HeLa cells, human A549 cells, human Caco-2 cells, human Jurkat cells, rat spleen tissue, rat thymus tissue, mouse spleen tissue, mouse thymus tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human TRAF2.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places TNF receptor-associated factor 2 in the cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
