Key elements and design rationale

  • Target: ACP5 (Protein disulfide-isomerase A2).
  • Antibody format: Monoclonal; clone AEGH-1; isotype Rabbit IgG.
  • Host: Rabbit.
  • Species reactivity: Human,Mouse,Rat (confirm in your model system with appropriate controls).

This description is intended to help interpret the antibody design and the biological context of the target using the fields provided in the catalog record, alongside general experimental considerations.

Biological background

ACP5 (protein: T-cell surface glycoprotein CD3 zeta chain) is a commonly studied target in molecular and cellular biology. Functional context (as provided): Acts as an intracellular estrogen-binding protein. May be involved in modulating cellular levels and biological functions of estrogens in the pancreas. May act as a chaperone that inhibits aggregation of misfolded proteins. . Reported cellular localization context: Endoplasmic reticulum lumen . Tissue expression notes (as provided): Highly expressed in pancreas (at protein level). .

Research relevance and current trends

  • Research context keywords from the source record include: Cofactors, Vitamins/Minerals,Cytoskeleton/ECM,Extracellular Matrix,Immunology,Innate Immunity,Macrophage/Inflammation,Metabolism,Organelle Proteins,Pathways and Processes,Protein Trafficking,Signal Transduction,Structures,Vitamins/Minerals.
  • Current studies often focus on connecting target abundance/localization to pathway perturbations across models, tissues, and cell states.
  • Quantitative and multiplexed assays (e.g., imaging + immunoblot panels) are commonly used to compare phenotypes across conditions and time-courses.

Common research applications

  • Western blotting (WB): assess relative target abundance across samples, treatments, or time-points.
  • Immunohistochemistry (IHC): evaluate spatial distribution of target-positive staining in tissue architecture.
  • Immunofluorescence/ICC (IF/ICC): visualize subcellular localization patterns and cell-to-cell heterogeneity.
  • Immunoprecipitation (IP): enrich target complexes for downstream immunoblot or interaction analyses.

Workflow ideas (metafield): Validate ACP5 antibody specificity using KO/KD control samples (WB/IF/IHC as appropriate), Detect ACP5 expression by Western blot in cell or tissue lysates, Detect ACP5 in FFPE tissue sections by immunohistochemistry, Localize ACP5 by immunofluorescence/immunocytochemistry in cultured cells, Enrich ACP5 by immunoprecipitation from lysates for downstream analysis

Notes for experimental interpretation

  • Consider isoforms and post-translational modifications (PTMs) that may shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
  • Apparent molecular weight may vary by sample type and processing (observed MW: 37 kDa; calculated MW: 58206 MW).
  • Control concepts: include appropriate negative controls (e.g., isotype, KO/KD samples) and orthogonal validation when feasible.

Additional product details (from the source record)

  • Molecular weight (observed): 37 kDa
  • Cellular localization (provided): Endoplasmic reticulum lumen .
  • Tissue details (provided): Highly expressed in pancreas (at protein level). .

We are currently using anti-TRAP Monoclonal antibody M03277-1 for human tissue, and we are content with the IF results. The species of reactivity given in the datasheet says human, mouse, rat. Is it true that the antibody can work on goat tissues as well?
The anti-TRAP Monoclonal antibody (M03277-1) has not been tested for cross reactivity specifically with goat tissues, though there is a good chance of cross reactivity. We have an innovator award program that if you test this antibody and show it works in goat you can get your next antibody for free. Please contact me if I can help you with anything.
