Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 (gene Trem2) in rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA.
TREM2 is a cell surface receptor on microglia, macrophages and osteoclasts that signals through the adaptor DAP12 (TYROBP). It senses lipids, apoptotic cells and amyloid-β and supports phagocytosis, survival and metabolic fitness of microglia. TREM2 variants raise the risk of Alzheimer disease, and loss of function causes Nasu-Hakola disease, making it a major neuroinflammation target.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat C6 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): RH35 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant rat Trem2 fragment (Leu19–Asp131), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with rat. UniProt describes triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 as secreted and also located in the cell membrane. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
