Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes tRNA (gene TRMT5) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 58.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 50 kDa.
TRMT5 is a mitochondrial tRNA methyltransferase that methylates the N1 position of guanosine 37, adjacent to the anticodon. This m1G37 mark helps keep the ribosome in the correct reading frame and is the first step toward wybutosine in certain tRNAs, so TRMT5 is studied in mitochondrial translation and respiratory chain function.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human MCF-7 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): U2OS cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human TRMT5 fragment (Arg291–Glu501), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places tRNA in the mitochondrion matrix, nucleus and cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
