Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets L-dopachrome tautomerase (gene DCT) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 59.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 59 kDa.
Dopachrome tautomerase (DCT, also called TYRP2) is a melanosomal enzyme of the tyrosinase family. It converts L-dopachrome into DHICA, an intermediate in eumelanin synthesis. DCT is used as a marker of melanocytes and melanoblasts and is studied in pigmentation biology and melanoma research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): rat testis tissue, rat C6 cells, mouse testis tissue, mouse RAW264.7 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): MCF-7 cells.

Recombinant human TRP2/DCT fragment (Gln24–Ala519), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places L-dopachrome tautomerase in the melanosome membrane and melanosome. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
