Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily M member 8 (gene TRPM8) in human samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 127.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 127 kDa.
TRPM8 is the main cold- and menthol-activated ion channel of sensory neurons. It opens at cool temperatures and in response to cooling compounds such as menthol and icilin, allowing cation entry that signals cold, and it is also involved in regulating tear secretion. It is studied in thermosensation, cold pain and prostate biology.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL (Human) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): HeLa cells, 22RV1 cells, SW620 cells, A549 cells, A431 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 40 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human TRPM8. It differs from the mouse sequence at four residues and from the rat sequence at two residues.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt places transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily M member 8 in the cell membrane, membrane raft and endoplasmic reticulum membrane. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in prostate. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
