Product Overview
Clone AOGC-20 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes thioredoxin (gene TXN) in human samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 11.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 12 kDa.
Thioredoxin (TXN, TRX1) is a small, ubiquitous oxidoreductase whose active-site pair of cysteines reduces disulfide bonds in other proteins. Kept reduced by thioredoxin reductase and NADPH, it protects cells against oxidative stress, supports enzymes such as ribonucleotide reductase and peroxiredoxins, and regulates transcription factors including NF-κB and AP-1.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): HepG2 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human TRX1.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes thioredoxin as secreted and also located in the nucleus and cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
