Product Overview
Clone 29T44 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes elongation factor Ts, mitochondrial (gene TSFM) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 35.4 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 32 kDa.
TSFM is mitochondrial elongation factor Ts, a nucleotide exchange factor for mitochondrial EF-Tu (TUFM). By swapping GDP for GTP, it recycles EF-Tu so that it can deliver new aminoacyl-tRNAs to the ribosome, and it is therefore required for mitochondrial protein synthesis; variants cause combined oxidative phosphorylation deficiency.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places elongation factor Ts, mitochondrial in the mitochondrion matrix. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in all tissues, with the highest levels of expression in skeletal muscle, liver and kidney. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
