Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects elongation factor Tu, mitochondrial (gene TUFM) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 49.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 50 kDa.
TUFM is mitochondrial elongation factor Tu, a GTPase that brings aminoacyl-tRNAs to the A site of mitochondrial ribosomes during protein synthesis. It is recycled by TSFM, and beyond translation it has been reported to regulate autophagy and to dampen RIG-I–MAVS antiviral signaling.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.1–0.25 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| Immunocytochemistry / Immunofluorescence | 5 µg/mL (Human) |
| ELISA | 0.1–0.5 µg/mL |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HepG2 cells, human Daudi cells, human 293T cells, human MCF-7 cells, rat brain tissue, mouse brain tissue, mouse spleen tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.25 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HeLa cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human TUFM fragment (Arg8–Arg271), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places elongation factor Tu, mitochondrial in the mitochondrion matrix. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
