Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 12 (gene TNFSF12) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 27.2 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 27 kDa.
TWEAK (TNFSF12) is a TNF family cytokine that signals mainly through its receptor Fn14. It activates NF-κB, promotes endothelial cell proliferation and angiogenesis, induces inflammatory cytokines such as IL-8, and can weakly trigger cell death in some cell types. TWEAK is studied in tissue injury, repair and chronic inflammation.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human MCF-7 cells, human PANC-1 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 50 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:10000, ECL detection.

The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places tumor necrosis factor ligand superfamily member 12 in the cell membrane and SUBCELLULAR LOCATION:. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in adult heart, pancreas, skeletal muscle, brain, colon, small intestine, lung, ovary, prostate, spleen, lymph node, appendix and peripheral blood lymphocytes. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
