Product Overview
Clone GOO-20 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes tyrosine 3-monooxygenase (gene TH) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 58.6 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 59 kDa.
Tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) converts L-tyrosine to L-DOPA using tetrahydrobiopterin and oxygen, the rate-limiting step in making dopamine, noradrenaline and adrenaline. It is expressed in catecholaminergic neurons and adrenal chromaffin cells, and its activity is tightly controlled by phosphorylation. TH is the standard marker for dopaminergic neurons and is central to research on Parkinson's disease and the stress response.

Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:1000 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human brain tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human tyrosine Hydroxylase.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places tyrosine 3-monooxygenase in the cytoplasm, nucleus and cell projection. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Mainly expressed in the brain and adrenal glands. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
