Product Overview
Clone 28U91 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes NEDD8-activating enzyme E1 catalytic subunit (gene UBA3) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 51.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 50 kDa.
UBA3 is the catalytic subunit of the NEDD8-activating enzyme (NAE), formed with NAE1. It activates the ubiquitin-like protein NEDD8 and passes it to the E2 enzyme UBE2M, leading to neddylation of cullins, which turns on cullin-RING ubiquitin ligases. It is the target of the NAE inhibitor pevonedistat.
