Product Overview
Clone ADBA-21 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes ubiquitin-protein ligase E3A (gene UBE3A) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot. The predicted molecular weight is 100.7 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 100 kDa.
UBE3A (also called E6AP) is a HECT-type E3 ubiquitin ligase that receives ubiquitin from an E2 enzyme and transfers it to its substrates, marking many of them for proteasomal degradation. It is well known for its role in brain development, since loss of maternal UBE3A causes Angelman syndrome, and for being recruited by the HPV E6 oncoprotein to degrade p53.
