Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase UBR2 in human and mouse samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 200.5 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 201 kDa.
UBR2 is an E3 ubiquitin ligase of the N-end rule pathway, which targets proteins for destruction according to their N-terminal residue. It recognizes proteins that begin with basic or bulky hydrophobic amino acids, ubiquitinates them and sends them to the proteasome. UBR2 is studied in protein turnover, chromatin regulation and male germ-cell development.

Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): HepG2 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HepG2 cells.
Immunogen
Recombinant human UBR2 fragment (Gln10–Ala664), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human and mouse. UniProt places E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase UBR2 in the nucleus and chromosome. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Broadly expressed, with highest levels in skeletal muscle, kidney and pancreas. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
