Product Overview
Clone 29U95 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes ubiquitin recognition factor in ER-associated degradation protein 1 (gene UFD1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 34.5 kDa; the supplier reports observed bands at 35, 40 kDa.
UFD1 is a cofactor of the ATPase VCP (p97) that, together with NPL4, forms a complex that recognizes ubiquitinated proteins. This complex extracts misfolded proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum for proteasomal degradation (ERAD) and also acts in other ubiquitin-dependent processes, including late mitotic events. UFD1 is studied in protein quality control.
