Product Overview
Clone 28U42 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes ubiquitin-fold modifier 1 (gene UFM1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 9.1 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 10 kDa.
UFM1 is a small ubiquitin-like modifier that is attached to lysine residues of target proteins, alone or as chains. Its conjugation (ufmylation) depends on the E1 enzyme UBA5, the E2 UFC1 and the E3 UFL1. Ufmylation supports ER homeostasis and ER-phagy, ribosome recycling and the DNA damage response.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): HepG2 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human pancreas cancer tissue, rat bladder tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
