Overview
Anti-USP1 Antibody Picoband® is an antibody for USP1 detection raised in Rabbit (Polyclonal, Rabbit IgG), with reported reactivity: Human,Mouse,Monkey. Commonly used in WB, IHC, Flow Cytometry, ELISA workflows.
Key elements and design rationale
- Target: USP1 (kallikrein-related peptidase 2); UniProt: O94782
- Antibody format: Rabbit, Polyclonal, Rabbit IgG
- Molecular weight: 110 kDa
- Applications: WB, IHC, Flow Cytometry, ELISA
Vendor description (summary): Boster Bio Anti-USP1 Antibody Picoband® catalog # A03881-2.
Biological background
Biological context: Glandular kallikreins cleave Met-Lys and Arg-Ser bonds in kininogen to release Lys-bradykinin.
Common research applications
- Western blotting (WB): Compare USP1 levels across samples and conditions using appropriate loading and biological controls.
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC): Evaluate spatial distribution of USP1 in tissue sections, considering fixation and antigen retrieval effects.
- Flow cytometry: Quantify USP1-positive populations in single-cell suspensions with appropriate gating and controls.
- ELISA: Use antibody-based detection formats to assess antigen presence or binding in plate-based assays.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, post-translational modifications, and sample-specific processing that can shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
- Use positive/negative biological controls where possible (e.g., known-expressing cells/tissues, knockdown/knockout models) and include appropriate secondary-only/isotype controls for imaging workflows.
Additional product notes (from provided fields)
- Background: Ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 1 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the USP1 gene. This gene encodes a member of the ubiquitin-specific processing (UBP) family of proteases that is a deubiquitinating enzyme (DUB) with His and Cys domains. This protein is located in the cytoplasm and cleaves the ubiquitin moiety from ubiquitin-fused precursors and ubiquitinylated proteins. The protein specifically deubiquitinates a protein in the Fanconi anemia (FA) DNA repair pathway. Alternate transcriptional splice variants have been characterized.
- Cross reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
- Research category: Cancer,Cell Biology,Cytoskeleton/ECM,ECM Enzymes,Extracellular Matrix,Invasion/Microenvironment,Proteolysis/Ubiquitin,Proteolytic Enzymes,Signal Transduction
