Description
Anti-V5 Affinity Gel is prepared by conjugating high quality murine IgG2b monoclonal antibody with Sepharose 4B gel. This product has a high V5 label fusion protein loading capacity (at least 0.5 mg protein/mL gel) and less non-specific binding of miscellaneous proteins. It can be used for immunoprecipitation (IP) and purification of fusion proteins with V5 labels.
Features
- Specific—highly specific monoclonal antibody
- High yield and high purity
- Versatile—It can be used for protein purification or COIP
- Convenient—reagents and peptides to elute are available separately
Applications
- Immunoprecipitation (IP)
- Purification of fusion proteins with V5 labels.

The unopened products should be stably stored at -25℃ ~ -15℃ for 1 year. Do not freeze in solution without glycerin!
The V5 tag is a 14-amino acid sequence (GKPIPNPLLGLDST) derived from the P and V proteins of paramyxovirus SV5. The antibody is clone 10B5, isotype Mouse IgG1, purified by Protein A. Antibody concentration: 7.5 g antibody/L gel. Protein binding capacity: ≥0.5 mg V5-tagged protein per mL gel.
V5 is commonly used for cell-based expression studies, pull-downs, and protein–protein interaction studies. Because V5 is derived from a viral protein, it has no mammalian counterpart, minimizing background from endogenous proteins in mammalian cell lysates. It is used in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic expression systems.
The Anti-V5 gel has the lowest binding capacity in this series at ≥0.5 mg/mL, compared to HA (≥1.5 mg/mL), His (≥1.1 mg/mL), Flag (≥1.1 mg/mL), and Myc (≥0.9 mg/mL). Plan your experiment accordingly — use a proportionally larger gel volume if your target protein is highly expressed.
Yes — the 100 mL format (20588ES60) is available for preparative-scale purification of V5-tagged proteins. The gel can be packed into chromatography columns or used in batch mode. Ensure proper column equilibration and optimized wash conditions to maintain purity.
Unopened: −25°C to −15°C for 1 year. After opening: 2–8°C. Storage buffer: 10 mM Na₃PO₄, 150 mM NaCl, 50% glycerol, pH 7.4, 0.02% sodium azide. Do not freeze without glycerol-containing buffer.
