Product Overview
Clone AAGD-22 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes transitional endoplasmic reticulum ATPase (gene VCP) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 89.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 89 kDa.
VCP (p97) is an abundant AAA+ ATPase that uses ATP to extract ubiquitinated proteins from membranes, chromatin and protein complexes. With cofactors such as UFD1 and NPL4 it drives ER-associated degradation and supports autophagy, DNA repair and Golgi reassembly. VCP mutations cause multisystem proteinopathy, and it is studied in protein homeostasis and neurodegeneration.
