Product Overview
Clone IIC-3 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes cadherin-5 (gene Cdh5) in mouse samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF and immunoprecipitation. The predicted molecular weight is 87.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 88 kDa.
VE-cadherin (cadherin-5, CDH5) is the main cadherin of vascular endothelial cells, where it builds the adherens junctions that hold neighboring endothelial cells together. By controlling junction stability it governs vessel integrity and permeability, making it a standard endothelial marker in studies of angiogenesis, vascular leakage and inflammation.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): mouse lung.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:500, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of mouse VE Cadherin.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with mouse. UniProt places cadherin-5 in the cell junction, cell membrane and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (mouse): Expressed in postnatal endothelial cells of the retinal vascular plexus (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
