Product Overview
Clone DCC-22 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes vitronectin (gene VTN) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC and ICC/IF. The predicted molecular weight is 54.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 75 kDa.
Vitronectin is a glycoprotein abundant in plasma and the extracellular matrix. It binds integrins such as αvβ3 to support cell adhesion and spreading, stabilizes the protease inhibitor PAI-1, and limits formation of the membrane attack complex of complement. Vitronectin is studied in cell adhesion, fibrinolysis and tissue repair.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human vitronectin.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt describes vitronectin as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed in the retina pigment epithelium (at protein level). The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
