Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects DDB1- and CUL4-associated factor 1 (gene DCAF1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, IHC, ICC/IF, flow cytometry and ELISA. The predicted molecular weight is 169.0 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 180 kDa.
DCAF1 (also called VprBP) is a substrate receptor for CUL4-DDB1 E3 ubiquitin ligase complexes and also has kinase activity toward histone H2A. Through these roles it influences the cell cycle, chromatin modification and genome stability. DCAF1 is also hijacked by HIV and SIV accessory proteins Vpr and Vpx, making it a subject of both cell biology and virology research.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human HEK293 cells, human HepG2 cells, human K562 cells, rat testis tissue, mouse testis tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): human placenta tissue, human breast cancer tissue, human ovarian adenocarcinoma tissue, human pancreatic cancer tissue, human rectal cancer tissue, human gastric cancer tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).
Samples with confirmed staining (ICC/IF): PC-3 cells.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): U251 cells.

Recombinant human VPRBP/DCAF1 fragment (Met1–Arg195), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places DDB1- and CUL4-associated factor 1 in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Ubiquitously expressed. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
