Product Overview

Clone IHF-22 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes von Willebrand factor (gene VWF) in human samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC. The predicted molecular weight is 309.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 309 kDa.

Von Willebrand factor (VWF) is a large multimeric plasma glycoprotein made by endothelial cells and megakaryocytes. At sites of vessel injury it bridges exposed collagen to the platelet receptor GPIb, supporting platelet adhesion, and it carries and protects coagulation factor VIII. Its deficiency causes von Willebrand disease, the most common inherited bleeding disorder.

Validated Applications

Western blot 1:500–1:2000
Immunohistochemistry 1:50–1:200

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human serum.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human VWF.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with human. UniProt describes von Willebrand factor as a secreted protein. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Plasma. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

Handling: the formulation contains sodium azide as a preservative. Wear gloves, avoid contact with skin and eyes, and dispose of waste according to local regulations. For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
Q.Which applications is this antibody validated for, and at what dilution?
A.Validated applications with suggested starting dilutions: Western blot 1:500–1:2000; Immunohistochemistry 1:50–1:200. Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory.
Q.Which species does this antibody react with?
A.Validated reactivity: Human. Other species are not listed by the supplier.
Q.What band size should be expected in Western blot?
A.Reported by the supplier: calculated molecular weight 309.3 kDa; observed band at about 309 kDa.
Q.What immunogen was used to raise this antibody?
A.Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human VWF.
Q.How should this antibody be stored?
A.Long term: −20 °C for up to 12 months. Frequent use: 4 °C for up to 1 month. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
