Product Overview
Clone 23W45 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody that recognizes actin nucleation-promoting factor WAS in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot, ICC/IF, immunoprecipitation and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 52.9 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 60 kDa.
WASP is an actin nucleation-promoting factor expressed in blood cells. Activated by CDC42, it stimulates the Arp2/3 complex to build branched actin networks needed for immune synapse formation, migration and phagocytosis. Mutations cause Wiskott–Aldrich syndrome, an immunodeficiency with small platelets and eczema.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human Jurkat cells, human HEL cells, human K562 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 1:500 overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide based on the sequence of human WASP.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places actin nucleation-promoting factor WAS in the cytoplasm and nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Expressed predominantly in the thymus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
