Vendor description (summary): Boster Bio Anti-WHSC1/NSD2 Antibody Picoband® catalog # A32441-1.
Biological background
Biological context: Could induce apoptosis in a BH3 domain-dependent manner. The interaction network of Bcl-2 family members may play a key role in modulation RTL10/BOP intrinsic apoptotic signaling activity.
Expression and localization notes: cellular localization: Cell membrane; Lipid-anchor, GPI-anchor., tissue context: Ubiquitously expressed..
Common research applications
- Western blotting (WB): Compare NSD2 levels across samples and conditions using appropriate loading and biological controls.
- Immunohistochemistry (IHC): Evaluate spatial distribution of NSD2 in tissue sections, considering fixation and antigen retrieval effects.
- Flow cytometry: Quantify NSD2-positive populations in single-cell suspensions with appropriate gating and controls.
- ELISA: Use antibody-based detection formats to assess antigen presence or binding in plate-based assays.
Notes for experimental interpretation
- Account for isoforms, post-translational modifications, and sample-specific processing that can shift apparent molecular weight or epitope accessibility.
- Use positive/negative biological controls where possible (e.g., known-expressing cells/tissues, knockdown/knockout models) and include appropriate secondary-only/isotype controls for imaging workflows.
Additional product notes (from provided fields)
- Background: This gene encodes a protein that contains four domains present in other developmental proteins: a PWWP domain, an HMG box, a SET domain, and a PHD-type zinc finger. It is expressed ubiquitously in early development. Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome (WHS) is a malformation syndrome associated with a hemizygous deletion of the distal short arm of chromosome 4. This gene maps to the 165 kb WHS critical region and has also been involved in the chromosomal translocation t(4;14)(p16.3;q32.3) in multiple myelomas. Alternative splicing of this gene results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. Some transcript variants are nonsense-mediated mRNA (NMD) decay candidates, hence not represented as reference sequences.
- Cross reactivity: No cross-reactivity with other proteins.
- Cellular localization: Cell membrane; Lipid-anchor, GPI-anchor.
- Tissue details: Ubiquitously expressed.
- Research category: Chemokines,Immunology,Innate Immunity
