Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets WAS/WASL-interacting protein family member 1 (gene WIPF1) in human, mouse and rat samples and is validated for Western blot and flow cytometry. The predicted molecular weight is 51.3 kDa, and the supplier reports an observed band at about 56 kDa.
WIPF1, commonly called WIP (WASP-interacting protein), binds WASP and N-WASP and helps control actin polymerization through the Arp2/3 complex. It stabilizes and regulates these nucleation-promoting factors, influencing filopodia, membrane ruffles and immune-cell cytoskeletal responses, and it is also used by vaccinia virus to recruit N-WASP for actin-based motility.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Human, Mouse, Rat) |
|---|---|
| Flow cytometry (fixed cells) | 1–3 µg/1×106 cells (Human) |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): human Daudi cells, human MOLT-4 cells, rat spleen tissue, mouse spleen tissue, mouse NIH/3T3 cells.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 5–20% gradient SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with a confirmed signal (flow cytometry): HEL cells, U87 cells.
Immunogen
Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of human WIPF1. Sequence identity with the mouse and rat orthologs: 95%.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with human, mouse and rat. UniProt places WAS/WASL-interacting protein family member 1 in the cytoplasmic vesicle, cytoplasm and cell projection. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (human): Highly expressed in peripheral blood mononuclear cells, spleen, placenta, small intestine, colon and thymus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
