Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets protein X in woodchuck hepatitis b virus (isolate 8) (whv) samples.
In woodchuck hepatitis virus (WHV), a close relative of human hepatitis B virus, protein X is a small regulatory protein needed for efficient viral replication in the host. Like HBx, it enhances viral transcription, in part by using the host DDB1 ubiquitin ligase to remove the SMC5/6 complex that would silence viral DNA, and woodchucks are a classic model for chronic hepadnavirus infection and liver cancer.
