Product Overview

This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets medium-chain specific acyl-CoA dehydrogenase, mitochondrial (gene acadm) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot.

Medium-chain acyl-CoA dehydrogenase (ACADM, MCAD) catalyzes the first step of mitochondrial beta-oxidation for medium-chain fatty acids, passing electrons to electron transfer flavoprotein. MCAD deficiency is one of the most common inherited fatty acid oxidation disorders and is included in newborn screening.

Validated Applications

Western blot 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Zebrafish)

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish head tissue, female zebrafish viscera tissue, male zebrafish viscera tissue, whole zebrafish tissue, zebrafish embryo tissue.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.

Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of zebrafish ACADM.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places medium-chain specific acyl-CoA dehydrogenase, mitochondrial in the mitochondrion matrix. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. Handle with standard laboratory precautions.
Q.Which applications is this antibody validated for, and at what dilution?
A.Validated applications with suggested starting dilutions: Western blot 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Zebrafish). Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory.
Q.Which species does this antibody react with?
A.Validated reactivity: Zebrafish. Other species are not listed by the supplier.
Q.What band size should be expected in Western blot?
A.Reported by the supplier: observed band at about 43 kDa.
Q.What immunogen was used to raise this antibody?
A.Synthetic peptide from the C-terminal region of zebrafish ACADM.
Q.How should this antibody be stored?
A.As supplied: −20 °C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 4 °C for up to 1 month, or aliquot and keep at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
