Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects protein argonaute-1 (gene ago1) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot.
Argonaute-1 (AGO1) is a member of the Argonaute family that binds microRNAs and siRNAs and uses them as guides to repress translation of complementary mRNAs. Unlike AGO2, it lacks slicer activity, and it has also been linked to small RNA-directed transcriptional silencing of promoters.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish head tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 8% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant zebrafish AGO1 fragment (Glu377–Arg410), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places protein argonaute-1 in the cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
