Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects CD166 antigen homolog A (gene alcama) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC.
In zebrafish, alcama encodes a homolog of the cell adhesion molecule ALCAM (CD166). It mediates cell-cell adhesion and is used as a marker in zebrafish studies of neural, heart and fin development.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish head tissue, whole female zebrafish tissue, whole male zebrafish tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): zebrafish brain tissue, zebrafish heart tissue, zebrafish liver tissue, zebrafish colon tissue, zebrafish muscle tissue, zebrafish kidney tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Conditions in the example images (IHC): heat-mediated antigen retrieval in EDTA buffer (pH 8.0).

Recombinant zebrafish ALCAMA fragment (Lys54–Ile509), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places CD166 antigen homolog A in the cell membrane and cell projection. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (zebrafish): Expressed during axonogenesis in a subset of developing sensory and motor neurons that fasciculate with each other in the central nervous system. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
