Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets apoptotic protease-activating factor 1 (gene apaf1) in zebrafish samples and is validated for IHC.
Apoptotic protease-activating factor 1 (APAF1) is the central scaffold of the apoptosome. When cytochrome c is released from mitochondria, APAF1 binds it and ATP/dATP, oligomerizes, and activates caspase-9, which then activates caspase-3 to execute the intrinsic pathway of apoptosis.
| Target | Apoptotic protease-activating factor 1 (gene apaf1; UniProt Q9I9H8, zebrafish) |
|---|---|
| Host / Clonality / Isotype | Rabbit / Polyclonal / Rabbit IgG |
| Reactivity | Zebrafish |
| Form | Lyophilized |
| Formulation | Per vial: 4 mg trehalose; 0.9 mg NaCl; 0.2 mg Na2HPO4 |
| Storage | As supplied: −20 °C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 4 °C for up to 1 month, or aliquot and keep at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. |
Validated Applications
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 2–5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
|---|
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): zebrafish skeletal muscle tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Recombinant zebrafish APAF1 fragment (Glu414–Ile1247), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places apoptotic protease-activating factor 1 in the cytoplasm.
