Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes achaete-scute homolog 1a (gene ascl1a) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot.
In zebrafish, ascl1a is a bHLH transcription factor related to mammalian ASCL1. It is involved in neurogenesis, including neuron development in the epiphysis and maintenance of hindbrain rhombomere boundaries, and it is required for endocrine cell differentiation in the developing pituitary.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish embryo tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 12% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Recombinant zebrafish ASCL1A fragment (Met1–Phe196), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places achaete-scute homolog 1a in the nucleus. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (zebrafish): In the 24 hours embryo, expressed in the dorsal hindbrain in two bilaterally symmetrical lines of cells marking the boundary between the alar and basal plates, and ventrally in rhombomere 1 near the floor plate. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
