Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects apoptosis regulator Bcl-2 (gene bcl2a) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot.
In zebrafish, bcl2a encodes a Bcl-2 family protein homologous to mammalian Bcl-2. By sequence similarity it is expected to act as an anti-apoptotic regulator of mitochondrial cell death, but its specific functions in zebrafish have not been fully characterized.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish head tissue, whole female zebrafish tissue, whole male zebrafish tissue, zebrafish embryo tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 12% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant zebrafish BCL2A fragment (Met1–Lys228), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places apoptosis regulator Bcl-2 in the cytoplasm, endoplasmic reticulum membrane, mitochondrion outer membrane and nuclear membrane. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
