Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets chordin (gene chd) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot.
In zebrafish, chordin (chd) is a secreted protein made by the dorsal organizer that binds bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) and blocks their signaling. This creates the BMP activity gradient that patterns the dorsal-ventral axis, and zebrafish chordin mutants are a classic model for studying embryonic axis formation.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish head tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant zebrafish Chordin/CHRD fragment (His69–His940), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt describes chordin as a secreted protein. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
