Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects cyp17a1 protein in zebrafish samples and is validated for IHC.
CYP17A1 is a cytochrome P450 of the endoplasmic reticulum with two activities: 17α-hydroxylase, needed for cortisol synthesis, and 17,20-lyase, needed for androgen synthesis. It sits at a branch point of adrenal and gonadal steroidogenesis and is the target of the prostate cancer drug abiraterone, so it is widely studied in endocrine and cancer research.
| Target | Cyp17a1 protein (gene cyp17a1; UniProt B3DH80, zebrafish) |
|---|---|
| Host / Clonality / Isotype | Rabbit / Polyclonal / Rabbit IgG |
| Reactivity | Zebrafish |
| Form | Lyophilized |
| Formulation | Per vial: 4 mg trehalose; 0.9 mg NaCl; 0.2 mg Na2HPO4 |
| Storage | As supplied: −20 °C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 4 °C for up to 1 month, or aliquot and keep at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. |
Validated Applications
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 2–5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
|---|
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): zebrafish liver tissue, zebrafish spinal cord tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Recombinant zebrafish CYP17A1 fragment (Gln67–Cys519), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places cyp17a1 protein in the membrane.
