Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes cytochrome P450 26A1 (gene cyp26a1) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot.
CYP26A1 is a cytochrome P450 enzyme that breaks down all-trans retinoic acid, the active form of vitamin A, into hydroxylated products. By clearing retinoic acid, it shapes where and how strongly retinoid signaling acts during embryonic patterning, including the hindbrain and body axis. It is studied in development and retinoid metabolism.

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): whole female zebrafish tissue, whole male zebrafish tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant zebrafish CYP26A1 fragment (Glu56–Arg425), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places cytochrome P450 26A1 in the endoplasmic reticulum membrane and microsome membrane. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
