Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes keratin, type I cytoskeletal 18 (gene krt18) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC.
Keratin 18 (KRT18) is a type I intermediate filament protein of simple (single-layer) epithelia, such as those of the liver, intestine and glands. With its partner keratin 8 it forms filament networks that protect cells from mechanical and other stresses. Caspase-cleaved KRT18 fragments are used as markers of epithelial apoptosis, and KRT18 is also studied in zebrafish epithelia.
| Target | Keratin, type I cytoskeletal 18 (gene krt18; UniProt Q7ZTS4, zebrafish) |

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
|---|---|
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 2–5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish head tissue, whole female zebrafish tissue, whole male zebrafish tissue, zebrafish embryo tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): zebrafish eye tissue, zebrafish kidney tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Recombinant zebrafish KRT18 fragment (Arg117–Asp416), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
