Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody recognizes protein eyes shut homolog (gene eys) in zebrafish samples.
In zebrafish, eys encodes the eyes shut protein, an extracellular protein at the photoreceptor ciliary pocket. It is needed to keep photoreceptor cells healthy and may support protein transport between inner and outer segments. Mutations in the human ortholog cause retinitis pigmentosa, and zebrafish eys mutants are used to model this retinal degeneration.

Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places protein eyes shut homolog in the cell projection and cytoplasm. Tissue expression noted by UniProt (zebrafish): Expressed in retina where it localizes between the retinal pigment epithelium and the outer nuclear layer (at protein level).
