Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects beta-ketoacyl-acyl-carrier-protein synthase I (gene fasn) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC.
Fatty acid synthase (FASN) is a large multifunctional enzyme that builds long-chain saturated fatty acids, mainly palmitate, from acetyl-CoA and malonyl-CoA using NADPH. It carries all the catalytic steps of fatty acid synthesis in a single polypeptide, and it is studied in lipid metabolism, metabolic disease and the altered metabolism of cancer cells.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
|---|---|
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 2–5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish head tissue, whole female zebrafish tissue, whole male zebrafish tissue, zebrafish embryo tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): zebrafish liver tissue, zebrafish muscle tissue, zebrafish colon tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Recombinant zebrafish FASN fragment (Gln508–Gly2511), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
