Product Overview

This rabbit polyclonal antibody targets glucose-6-phosphate 1-dehydrogenase (gene g6pd) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot.

Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) catalyzes the first and rate-controlling reaction of the pentose phosphate pathway's oxidative branch. It is a main source of cytosolic NADPH, which supports glutathione-based antioxidant defense and lipid synthesis, and it supplies pentose sugars for nucleotides. G6PD deficiency is a common inherited enzyme disorder that makes red blood cells prone to oxidative hemolysis.

Target Glucose-6-phosphate 1-dehydrogenase (gene g6pd; UniProt A0A8M2B959, zebrafish)
Host / Clonality / Isotype Rabbit / Polyclonal / Rabbit IgG
Reactivity Zebrafish
Form Lyophilized
Formulation Per vial: 4 mg trehalose; 0.9 mg NaCl; 0.2 mg Na2HPO4
Storage As supplied: −20 °C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 4 °C for up to 1 month, or aliquot and keep at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.

Validated Applications

Western blot 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Zebrafish)

Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish head tissue, whole female zebrafish tissue, whole male zebrafish tissue, zebrafish embryo tissue.

Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.

Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.

Immunogen

Recombinant zebrafish G6PD fragment (Glu9–Lys527), expressed in E. coli.

Reactivity Notes

The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places glucose-6-phosphate 1-dehydrogenase in the cytoplasm. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.

Safety

For research use only; not for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. Handle with standard laboratory precautions.
Q.Which applications is this antibody validated for, and at what dilution?
A.Validated applications with suggested starting dilutions: Western blot 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Zebrafish). Optimal dilutions should be determined by each laboratory.
Q.Which species does this antibody react with?
A.Validated reactivity: Zebrafish. Other species are not listed by the supplier.
Q.What immunogen was used to raise this antibody?
A.Recombinant zebrafish G6PD fragment (Glu9–Lys527), expressed in E. coli.
Q.How should this antibody be stored?
A.As supplied: −20 °C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 4 °C for up to 1 month, or aliquot and keep at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
