Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects gephyrin (gene gphna) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot and IHC.
In zebrafish, gphna encodes one of two gephyrin genes. Gephyrin combines two roles: it catalyzes late steps in molybdenum cofactor synthesis and it anchors inhibitory glycine receptors at synapses, and zebrafish is used as a model for studying these functions.

| Storage | As supplied: −20 °C for up to 12 months from receipt. After reconstitution: 4 °C for up to 1 month, or aliquot and keep at −20 °C for up to 6 months. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles. |
Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
|---|---|
| IHC (paraffin sections) | 2–5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish head tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Samples with confirmed staining (IHC): zebrafish brain tissue, zebrafish pancreas tissue, zebrafish colon tissue, zebrafish spinal cord tissue.
Recommended antigen retrieval: heat-mediated, in TE buffer (pH 9.0); citrate buffer (pH 6.0) can be used instead.
Immunogen
Recombinant zebrafish GPHNa/b fragment (Val288–Leu735), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places gephyrin in the cell projection, cytoplasm and postsynaptic cell membrane. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
