Product Overview
This rabbit polyclonal antibody detects homeobox protein goosecoid (gene gsc) in zebrafish samples and is validated for Western blot.
Goosecoid (GSC) is a homeobox transcription factor first identified as a marker of the Spemann organizer in vertebrate gastrulation. It regulates genes such as chordin and helps pattern mesoderm and neural crest derivatives, including middle ear and craniofacial structures. Goosecoid is studied in embryonic patterning in models such as zebrafish and in craniofacial development.

Validated Applications
| Western blot | 0.25–0.5 µg/mL (Zebrafish) |
|---|
Samples with a confirmed band (WB): zebrafish head tissue, zebrafish embryo tissue.
Recommended loading (WB): 20–40 µg of total protein per lane.
Conditions in the example images (WB): 10% SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions, 30 µg lysate per lane, transfer to nitrocellulose membrane, blocking in 5% non-fat milk, primary antibody at 0.5 µg/mL overnight at 4 °C, HRP-conjugated secondary antibody at 1:5000, ECL detection.
Immunogen
Recombinant zebrafish GSC fragment (Asp45–Ser240), expressed in E. coli.
Reactivity Notes
The supplier lists reactivity with zebrafish. UniProt places homeobox protein goosecoid in the nucleus. The samples tested by the supplier (listed above) are a practical starting point for positive controls.
